Ashland Kiwanis Club Meetings
For the most part our Club’s meetings are held twice a month – on the first and third Monday evenings of each month. These dinner meetings are held at:
Estes Dining Hall (second floor)
Randolph-Macon College
306 Henry Street
Ashland, VA 23005
The dinner meetings begin at 6:15 p.m. when the buffet line in the Worsham Room is “opened up” for hungry Kiwanians. Most members arrive shortly after 6:00 p.m. for a few minutes of socializing with other members and guests before the buffet begins. Members and guests take their plates to any one of six to eight round tables, each seating eight adults. (Usually, there are no reserved areas, so seating is “open” to one and all.)
The meeting portion of the evening usually starts at 6:45 p.m. In addition to routine Club matters, we usually have a guest speaker present for a program presentation. The meetings are most often adjourned by 7:30 p.m.
The cuisine prepared for our buffet dinners is delicious and usually includes a variety of meat and vegetable entrees. The current cost of these dinners for members is $10.00 per diner. Guests (excluding InterClub visitors) normally are not charged for their meals. At certain times of the year (e.g.; Christmas season in December or Club Charter Celebration in March) the Club has “dress up” fancy buffet dinners to which members bring their partners/special guests. Also, on some Club meeting nights, the event is held away from the Randolph-Macon campus (examples include our Annual Steak Dinner and our Family Picnic).
We invite you to attend a meeting as our guest and to join Ashland Kiwanis if service leadership and “giving back to the community” are shared values with us.
