Ashland Kiwanis Charitable Foundation, Inc.

The Ashland Kiwanis Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is a companion organization to, but a separate legal entity from, the Kiwanis Club of Ashland, VA.  Established on July 9, 1996, the Foundation was created to complement the charitable interests of the Ashland Kiwanis Club and its members.  The Foundation exists to provide financial assistance to programs and projects that enrich the life of our community and its youth.

Today, the Foundation focuses on the financial support aspects of two Ashland Kiwanis programs – the Ashland Kiwanis Key Club Scholarship Program and the Perfect Attendance Program.  The Scholarship Program provides four-year scholarships for one eligible, graduating senior member of each of Ashland Kiwanis’ four sponsored Key Clubs.  The Perfect Attendance Program reinforces student attendance at four area elementary schools with recognition awards and the opportunity for those students with perfect attendance to enter a drawing for a new bicycle.

Membership in the Foundation is limited to and consists of active members of the Kiwanis Club of Ashland, Virginia.  However, the Foundation has a separate organization of officers and directors.

Funding for the Foundation comes from contributions of Ashland Kiwanians as well as from businesses and individuals who also support the work of the Club and of the Club’s Foundation.  Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible under section 170(b)(1)(a) of the Internal Revenue Code.
